Laser physics





A focused laser beam is a powerfull tool to ionize atoms and molecules. With an intensity around 1015 W/cm2 it has got enough power for a multiple ionization of an atom or a molecule. Combined with our COLTRIMS apparatus it is possible to investigate the structure and behaviour of atoms and molecules.
