Welcome to Kassel...

...a city in the centre of Germany known for its cultural diversity and impressive landscapes.

It is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, which attracts numerous visitors every year with its water features, the imposing Hercules monument, and the castle Löwenburg.

Aside its many parks and green areas, Kassel is home to a variety of museums and other cultural attractions: from the documenta, one of the most important exhibitions of contemporary art, to the Fridericianum, one of the world´s oldest public museums, this city is an outstanding venue for art and cultural events.

The University of Kassel, a modern education and research center founded in 1971, attracts students from all over the world. Eleven faculties are distributed across eight campuses in and around Kassel. The ELCH conference is hosted on its main campus, Holländischer Platz (HoPla), located close to the city center.

The combination of historical sights, marvellous landscapes, and a vibrant cultural life makes Kassel an attractive place to live, learn, and explore.
